MORNINGSTAR STUDIO

Production Craft, Inc. designed and engineered an in-house television studio for Chicago-based Morningstar, Inc., the leading provider of stock and mutual fund investment information. The broadcast studio was designed to allow television networks and stations nationwide to conduct live satellite interviews with Morningstar analysts and to receive taped feeds. It is used by major broadcast television networks such as CNBC and Bloomberg Television. The studio is also used by Morningstar to provide streaming video broadcasts to the Morningstar.com website.

The system incorporates a Sony DXC-950 camera on a motorized remote control head that can be operated from a nearby control room. In addition, the facility utilizes a Shure Model 44D Diversity UHF wireless microphone and a Vega RMT-10 wireless IFB system as well as a QTV FDP-11 teleprompter. PCI also interfaced several DSS satellite dishes to allow Morningstar personnel to monitor broadcast placements.
